The Hillside Gardeners of Montclair

The objectives of the Club are to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening; to aid in the protection of native trees, plants and birds; and to encourage civic planting and conservation.

We help maintain the gardens at the Montclair Public Library, the Joaquin Miller Community Center, and the Sensory and Mediterranean Gardens at the Gardens at Lake Merritt. We started the after-school ecology club at the Joaquin Miller Elementary School. We provide scholarships for horticulture students at Merritt College and UC Berkeley, and donate to local conservation groups such as Friends of Sausal Creek.

Throughout the Garden Club year we visit local gardens and places of interest to gardeners.  These excursions are very popular with members.
